First trip to Six Flags!

We had a BUSY Saturday. There was a lot going on and we decided to just do it all. In the morning we went to an event at the high school for young kids called "Things that go". The kids got to climb up in big trucks, firetrucks, ice cream trucks, etc. It was a lot of fun. We met some of our friends there and it was just a great morning.
Then we headed into Forrest Park to the St. Louis Wine festival. Bob has gotten an invitation into a sponsors tent and we took the kids with us and got a nice lunch and got to taste some wine.
Then around 4pm we headed to Six Flags for my work family picnic. Addison was able to ride on 3 of the rides in the kids part of the park. It was great cause we were able to go on with her. She was not scared at all and had a great time.
It was a LONG day but it was worth it.

Here are a few pictures of Addison enjoying her first trip to Six Flags.

And here is a picture of poor Lucas just sitting in the stroller since he is still way too little for any of the fun there. Don't worry Lucas....we will make it up to you!!!

Addison and Lucas hanging out with friends.

Everything is so great with us. Lucas got his first tooth on Friday (or atleast that was when we noticed). It is amazing how excited you get as a parents when your baby gets their first tooth. They just don't seem like such a small baby anymore when they get teeth. Lucas has been sleeping through the night now for over a week with no problems and we are thrilled.
Addison is her usual self....plays with her toys, says crazy things and is so happy (when she is not whiney or crying for no reason and being a typical 2 year old). Here are some cute things she says:
"I have an idea". (she doesn't have an idea but she says that she does).
She has a knock knock joke and says "knock knock, whose there?, boo, boo who?, don't cry"
"I'm having fun!"
-there is a million more but of course I can't think of them now

Bob has been staying very busy at work which he is happy about but me and the kids miss him when he gets home a little late. There have been some changes with my job. My company has kind of merged with another company (it is also owned by the same parent company). We have all moved into the same new building as of Oct. 1st. The office is very nice and it will be nice to have more co-workers. I will work a different schedule though (Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays).
Friday we had some friends over. Here are a few pictures of Lucas with his friend Tommy (who is just a few weeks younger than him). They are already great friends.

And here are a few pictures of Addison with her friend Mackenzie. They are also just a few weeks apart in age.

Some crazy things Addison does.

I did not get many good pictures of Addison from this past week but I thought I would use this as a chance to write about how silly Addison is.
Addison is obsessed with these toy binoculars. She will wear them around her neck all day long and will look through them (backwards) and say "I see you."

She is obsessed with playing with her people. She has tons of little people and houses and cars. This is what our coffee table looks like every day. It is just a table for all of Addison's toys...especially her people.

Addison is "trying" to learn to jump. She gets all excited but never gets both feet off the ground at the same time. She loves trying and always says "mommy, you do it".

Addison is wearing this plain white onesie in all the pictures because of another silly thing she does. We were at the mall on Sunday and while in the stroller she takes a HUGE drink of water from her sippy cup and then let it run all out of her mouth and she was soaked. She did this with the entire cup of water without me noticing. I had to change her!
One more thing....She calls buttons "butts".

So much is new with Lucas.

So much is new with Lucas. First of all, he has slept through the night 4 nights in a row.
We decided to just turn the baby monitor off in our room. We sleep with our door open and his room is close to ours and we figured we would hear him if he really needs us and is crying loud. The last 4 nights he has gone to bed by 8:30 pm and slept till about 7am. Two of the nights we heard him a little but he went right back to sleep and we didn't even have to go into his room. I hope he keeps this up cause we are really enjoying this sleep.
In honor of Lucas sleeping though the night, here is a new adorable picture of him.

Some more exciting news, Lucas is "almost" sitting up on his own. He can do it for a minute here and there but we have to always be by him cause he falls over all the time.

We got Lucas a jumperoo. He loves it. He loves it even more when he learned how to jump in it. He is so strong and active and this is perfect for him.

Go BLUES!

Saturday was a fun day. As most of you know, Bob is a huge hockey fan and loves the St. Louis Blues. Of course I love hockey too after watching it with Bob and going to games with him since we started dating. The preseason is about to kick off so the Blues had a Fanfest on Saturday at the arena. Fans could come and watch the team practice, get autographs, enjoy some free foods, kids games and more. It was a lot of fun and my parents came along and got some great pictures of the 4 of us.

Addison was very excited about the free popcorn!

So, do you think they look alike?

Lucas is eating baby food.

Lucas has been eating solids for a few weeks now. As silly as it may sound, I did not take a picture of Lucas when he first started eating baby food cause at first he was using Addison's bibs and they were pink. I didn't want that to haunt him later in life that he wore pink bibs. (It never occurred to me to just take the darn bib off and then take a picture- oh well). I finally went out and got him a good boy bib, so here is a picture of Lucas eating Sweet Potatoes.

I think he likes it!!!

Here is a cute picture of Lucas after he got up from his nap. He really enjoys laying on his back and holding his feet.

A day at the farm/park.

It was a beautiful and cooler day on Friday so my parents came along with me to this great park called Suson Park. It has farm animals (cows, horses, pigs, goats, chickens and more). Addison loves it there.
Three generations (me, mom, and Addison).

We were trying to get a cute picture of me with my 2 kids but can never get them BOTH to look at the camera at the same time. Oh well.

Pretty funny huh.

We went to another park after seeing the farm animals and even packed a lunch. Addison was like a big kid and having fun on the playground and not even thinking twice about going down the big slide.

I love this picture of Lucas smiling at me on the swing.

Addison's Birthday Party!

Addison's 2nd b-day party was Saturday. It was a rainy day so we were all inside (all 36 people inside our not-so-big house). There were a lot of kids and a lot of toys all over the place. Addison had a great time. It was a Curious George theme (one of Addison's favorite cartoons and movie). She really enjoyed opening up all her gifts and wanted me to open up all her toys right away but was fine when we just went on to opening the next gift. She really loved it when everyone sang happy birthday to her and did so well at blowing out her candles all by herself.
My mom was amazing because she helped with all the food and helped me get ready for the party. Thank you Mom. Also, Becky (one of my best friends since jr. high) came in town for the party from Chicago with her 1 year old Mia. It was so nice for them to make the trip. We had a great time and were able to catch up (and have a beer together).
Just about 1 year ago we announced to our friends and family that we were pregnant with Lucas (at Addison's 1st b-day party). It is great to look back on and now have Lucas as part of our family.

The birthday girl!!!

Some decorations.

Addison and Molly sharing.

Make a wish Addison.

Enjoying cake and ice cream with her friend Ashton.

Lucas on his belly.

Lucas is doing great. He even slept through the night 2 nights in a row but of course went back to his old ways the last 2 nights and did not sleep through the night. Oh well. Those 2 nights were GREAT.
Lucas has been spending a lot of time on his belly lately. Here are a few cute pictures of his on his belly this last week.

Addison's 2 year appointment

Addison had her 2 year doctor appointment today. She is doing great and growing well. She is 24 lbs 12 oz (25th percentile) and is 33 1/2 inches tall (50th percentile).
Here are a few pictures of Addison from the past year!

HAPPY 2nd B-DAY ADDISON!

Our little girl is now 2 years old. Time sure does fly by. At 10:47 pm on Friday, Sept 2nd Addison Leigh was born via c-section weighing 6 lbs even. I feel like it was just yesterday that our first little baby was born. Now here we are 2 years later. We live in a new state and have our first house and even have another baby. Life sure is great and Addison is the best daughter we could ever ask for.
We had a great day today. We started the day off with some yummy doughnuts and then let Addison open her gifts. She is very excited about her new toys. We then went to the park and I guess Addison had an exciting morning cause she started falling asleep while Bob was pushing her in the swing. After her nap we headed to the Magic House. It is an amazing children's museum here in St. Louis. They have a great area for 1-6 year olds with sand tables, water table, slides, doll house, tunnels, and so much more. Addison had the best time and we loved playing with her like we were kids again. We then drove thru McDonalds (nice and healthy huh) and then sang happy birthday to her and enjoyed some cupcakes. It was a great day and I think Addison had an amazing time. We are very excited to celebrate again at her birthday party next weekend.

Playing at the children's museum on her birthday.

Make a wish Addison. HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY!!!

Lucas is rolling all over the place.

Lucas is doing it...he is rolling a lot now and both ways (front to back and back to front). He does it so well too. I am so excited for him. He has been sleeping a little better lately but not exactly through the night but oh well. He is just not much of a sleeper and doesn't even nap as much as Addison did and other babies do. We love him anyways (we are just a little tired)!

We got the highchair out and this is how he joins us for dinner now. We have tried giving him rice cereal but we just don't think he is ready yet.

We weighed Lucas at the children's museum and he was 17 lbs 2 oz (with his clothes and diaper on). Can the boy get any bigger. Addison was 19 lbs at one year and I would not be surprised if he is 19 lbs by 6 months.

Here he is practicing sitting up.

Lucas loves Louie just like Addison does.
