It's been a busy 6 weeks

A lot has been going on since I last updated our blog 6 weeks ago. First of all, summer is about to begin. Addison just finished up her first year of preschool and I think it went well. She will return next year (she misses the Just 31st Kindergarten cutoff date by a little over a month) but next year will be really special because Lucas will be joining her!!!
There was a downside in the past few weeks....Lucas suffered from a pretty major asthma attack. He had never wheezed before so it really came out of nowhere. We will be going to a specialist soon and can hopefully get some answers. To sum it up, he had to be transported via helicopter to a hospital with a pediatric unit, between the 2 ER's he stayed a good 10 hours in the ER before he finally started to turn around and then did great the rest of our 2 day stay in the hospital. We hope to never ever return and hopefully after seeing a specialist and getting some allergy testing...we can do our best to make sure it doesn't get that bad again.
Lets see....there was Easter and it was a great day. Here is a picture of the kids being very proud of their easter eggs that they colored.

Enjoying the easter egg hunt at Nana and Papa's house.

A family picture...it was a windy day for sure!

Another big thing happened....Lucas turned 3! We celebrated a few days before his birthday and had his party at the Whittle train station. Lucas' allergies have been very bad this season so he was not doing great that day but I think he managed to have a good time.

The proud big sister!

Our big 3 year old!!!

About a month ago I completed my 2nd 1/2 marathon. I ran my first one in November and finished in 2 hours and 2 minutes (9:20 mile pace). My goal in this race was to finish in less than 2 hours.....I finished in 1 hour and 57 minutes (8:58 pace) so I was very pleased.
Me and my friend Lara.

Bob has been so supportive and I can't wait to cheer him in all his triathalons this summer!

Two of my fans!!!

Here is a picture of me and Lucas on his actual birthday.

Another great event was going to Galena, IL for Pam's bachelorette party. Boy did we have a good time between a great wine tour, fun bachelorette stuff and just having a great time with friends and celebrating with Pam (another post to come from Pam's wedding this past weekend).

Mother's day was a very special day this year. Bob made me a great breakfast, I went to the movies with my Mom and then out to dinner with Bob and the kids. One of the best parts of the day was Bob and I taking the kids for our first real hike in the woods. They loved it and so did we. I can't wait to go again!

I love being a mom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brief update

I have been slacking on the blog updates...sorry. I think facebook has been making it easier to share news, events and pictures but I do want to keep up with the blog.
All is well with us. We are very happy spring has arrived and we are loving all the time outside again. I am training for my 2nd half marathon which is 2 weeks away. Bob is excited to start to get back into triathlons again and his stress fracture is almost healed. The kids are doing great. Addison is finally more interested in writing words and sounding out words...she is still much more interested in using her imagination. Lucas on the other hand can't get enough of spelling words and pointing out numbers and letters all over. He loves matching colors and counting (I think he takes more after Bob and Addison takes more after me). We are also so happy to have joined a gym. We enjoy it as a family because they have a pool for us to take the kids to and I can workout and take the kids to the daycare which is amazing.
Ok, well here are a FEW pictures from the past few weeks.
I went to Chicago this past weekend and got to spend some time with my BFF's. Here is me, Marina and Kris.

I finally got to meet my new nephew Emery.

A lot of Winter Updates.

It has been a very exciting winter for us. The holidays were great and get better each year as the kids get older. Before the holidays I did something really exciting for "me"....I went on my first "girls trip." I went with my 2 very best friends...Marina and Kris and we went to Cancun (we got an amazing deal). We stayed for 3 nights and just had the best time spending quality time together at the pool, eating great food at the restaurants and we even enjoyed going to the gym while on vacation. It is a trip that I will never forget!

Me enjoying some great breakfast and a great view of the ocean.

The 3 of us all dressed up with no responsibilities.

I have the greatest friends.

Right after Christmas though, we got to celebrate Steve's 30th birthday while he was in town.
Tre, Bob, Kurt and Steve

The big adventure of our winter was going on a trip to Colorado. Bob went skiing in Colorado last year for a bachelor party and as soon as he got back he started talking about going back this year....so we did. We went with Bob's brother Bill and his wife Linda.

We went night skiing in Keystone shorty after we arrived in Breckenridge. Other than Bob, it was all of our first time skiing in Colorado. I didn't do so well night skiing but I gave it another shot and went skiing in Breckenridge the next day and it went MUCH better. I loved it! It was very very cold but we tried to not let it get us down.

Here we are out to breakfast one morning.

Bill and Linda

The view from our condo (it was a ski in).

Bill and Linda....all ready to hit the slopes.

Me and Bob....I can't get over how funny we look with our big heads from our helmets/goggles and hats.

Me and Linda...we stuck with the green trails. At the end of the day though we took the big step and went on a blue trail (which later turned into a green trail). We wanted to take the trail that would lead us right to the condo. It was pretty scary taking the lift so high up the mountain, but we made it.

The guys were very glad to get away from us girls and ski on the blue trails. At the end of the day, they got on the wrong bus (going out of the town) and had to get off and walk about 2 miles with their ski boots on and ski gear in very very cold weather. Linda and I were warm and waiting for them in the hot tub not knowing what was taking them so long.

The beautiful town of Breckenridge.

You can see the amazing ski trails behind us.

Heading back to the airport.
We had a great trip and can't wait to go back.

We have not had a ton of snow here in St. Louis this winter so whenever we do, we have to take advantage and take the kids to play in the snow. This was our first snow fall that had good snowball and snowman making snow. We finally got to make a snowman with the kids (a small one since we only had about 2 inches). They were so proud.

So happy to be out in the snow.

Christmas 2009

Christmas of course was very busy but we are so thankful that we don't have to travel out of town anymore. The kids really enjoyed all the time leading up to Christmas especially the tree/ornaments and all the lights. They are sad that it is over with but enjoyed every moment.

Here are the 4 of us on Christmas Eve at my parents house.

3 generations
The kids with nana and papa.

It was Bob's turn to dress as Santa. He was such a good sport about it.

Addison getting her gift from Santa.

Check out Lucas' eyes....he was not so sure about this.

And I was a lucky lady to sit on Santa's lap too.

The tree with the gifts and cookies for santa, carrots from the reindeer and a note from Addison to Santa that said "Dear Santa. I want a barbie."

She got her barbie.

Lucas got a robot.

Puppy in my pocket castle.

Posing by the fireplace on Christmas morning.

Now Lucas has his own dress up clothes. (He doesn't have to wear his sisters princess dresses.)

He is thrilled. Doesn't he look like a little model here.

Christmas day at Bob's parents.

Bill, Katy, Molly and Linda

Tyson, Shawn, Brendan and Holly

All 6 cousins.

The day after Christmas we went to Steve's 30th birthday party. He was in town from Florida and we were so happy that we got to celebrate with him and Kurt was in town from Korea too.
