Addison's dance recital!

Addison just completed her 3rd year of dance. How can she even be that old to have taken dance this long. Well, she didn't fully complete her first year....she was 3 and spent way too much time running around the room, looking at herself in the mirror and just goofing off...so we pulled her out mid year and she didn't participate in the end of the year dance recital (she was too young to know what she was missing anyways).
But, she had a great year last year in ballet/tap and LOVED the dance recital. This year was no different except this year she took hip hop and I think the class was perfect for her. She had probably the smallest class in the studio with only 3 girls enrolled (it was a new class offered to pre-k kids). She is already talking about dance next year and I can't wait for her to continue with it.
Here they are on stage at the dress rehearsal.
The recital was the next night. It didn't start till 7pm which made for a very long night for a little girl but she managed. I think she enjoyed watching all the performances almost as much as her chance to be on stage. She danced along at her seat almost the entire time.
Our pretty girl....she couldn't get enough of her cute cat costume.

It was a long 9 month season of dance but we can't wait for it to start all over again in September.

Wisconsin Dells.

We recently went on a very special family trip. My amazing parents treating us, along with my brothers family, on a paid trip to the Wisconsin Dells. It was a place that I went to a few times growing up with my family and it was so nice for my parents to pass the experience on to their grandkids (and us again). We spent 3 nights in a really nice hotel room at Glacier Canyon which is part of the Wilderness Territory.
A look at our hotel room....it was so nice.
We couldn't go to the Dells without going on the Duck Boats!
Addison excited for the ride.
It was Bob's first time on the duck boats as well.
The wave pool was a BIG hit with the kids!

Kevin and Avery
The kids LOVED the water slide and us adults took turns going down with them a good 30 times!
Later in our trip we went on the upper deals boat tour. The sites were great and we made a few stops on the tour which were so cool.

Thanks for the trip Mom and Dad!

Cousins!!!
To end trip on an even better note, we had out last meal out at Paul Bunyan's. Boy was it good!!!

Addison Graduates Preschool!!!

Last Friday was a big day. Not only was it the kids preschool musical, but Addison graduated from preschool. It felt like such a long time coming since she has a September birthday and just missed the cut off date by a little over a month to start kindergarten. She will be one of the oldest in her class next year and I think she will do great. Lucas will be in Pre-K next year and one of the big kids at the school and he is excited about that.
The musical was really cute and Lucas was very vocal and added a little comedy to the show.
Our graduate.
It was fun having them go to preschool together this year.
Of course I had to take advantage of a family pic.

Mother's Day Weekend.

This weekend was a lot of fun....busy, but still a lot of fun. Saturday morning we participated in a 5K breast cancer walk to support Bob's aunt. It was great to have so many of us there to support her.
The family!
After the walk, we stopped over at a birthday party for the kids and then joined up with Bob's family again at one of the great wineries. It was a BEAUTIFUL day for it. The kids were with us and for not being much of a kid place, they did great and were so well behaved. It really made for a great afternoon.
Bob and I enjoying the wine!
After the winery, we finished things off with everyone at a bbq at Bill and Linda's.
It was hard to top such a great day, but Mother's day was great too. We went to brunch and then me, Addison and my Mom went to get a pedicure. It was special because it was Addison's first pedicure. Boy did she love it!!! She is already talking about going back.
The finished product!
Mother's Day ended off on a good note with a trip to the playground, Chinese for dinner, and ice cream for dessert. It was a good day and I just love being a Mommy to Addison and Lucas! :)

Dress up!

Dress up time is big around here. It started with Addison dressing up as a princess ALL the time when she was about 3. That has faded a little and she seems to go more towards dressing as a ballerina or her new favorite...just putting outfits together and wanting to change her clothes 6 times per day. Lucas would rather stay in his pj's all day if I will let him. Sometimes he will break out a superhero costume but his favorite is putting on his "daddy clothes" (a.k.a his Christmas outfit). He just loves to dress like Daddy!
Check out how they were dressed up the other day. Lucas was a superhero daddy and Addison was a superhero ballerina. When they are playing pretend around the house, they also go by different names. Sometimes it will be Bob and Lisa but most often Addison is Alexa and Lucas is John (ha ha)! They are so much to watch!

A new look.

I think it was about time that I changed up the blog a bit and got a new look. Hope you like it.
