Memorial Day Weekend

We had a great memorial day weekend at the lake of the ozarks. Bob's parents have a condo there on the lake so we spent 4 days with them. The weather was not the best (it rained a lot) but we still had a great time. We went on the boat a few times (the kids loved it). We went for a lot of walks and one day we took a long boat ride to this great restaurant/bar that has a beach for the kids. Addison and Lucas had a great time playing in the sand (getting all dirty) and getting in the water. We were also crazy and went in the condo pool one time. Addison really wanted to go swimming so we got in the freezing cold water for about 5 minutes (Bob and I put on a brave face as we jumped in the water).
I wish a had a ton of great pictures to share but I lost my camera. I will spare all the details since I am pretty heart broken over it. While we were at the lake, we stopped at my aunt's house who happens to live within minutes of the condo. They took a few pictures so this is all I have to share for now. I did get a disposable camera but I still need to get the darn thing developed.
Addison is attempting to hold Toby (my cousin) and Karen's son Brock.

Lucas enjoying their swing.

Addison was being a great big sister and pushed Lucas in the swing.

In some other news....Lucas is talking a lot more now. It is great because we feel like he can communicate more with us and understands so much more. He says mama, dada, papa (grandpa), nana (grandma), ball, bye bye, baby, baba (sippy cup), more and drink. We also transitioned him to one nap a day and I think it is really agreeing with him.

Addison's new obsession is dressing up as a princess. My mom has found a few princess dresses from garage sales. She also has princess shoes and a magic wand. She loves it. She is also so happy because the neighbor kids are out of school for the summer. She just loves all the kids and seems like such a big girl playing outside with the older kids.

Bob and I are celebrating our 5 year anniversary this weekend (May 31st). Bob's parents are keeping the kids overnight for us and we are going on a date! I will update with details later.

Lots of rain.

Really, there is not much new with us. It has just been raining here so much in St. Louis except we did have great weather over the weekend. I wanted to share 2 cute pictures of the kids in their rain coats.
Addison likes to help Lucas with his rain coat because it has buckles on it. It is so cute to watch because Lucas just lets Addison help with his coat and just stands there waiting.

Well, atleast one of them is smiling.

Fun times indoors.

We have experienced 2 fun indoor places and had an amazing time. About 2 weeks ago I got my mother-in-law to join me and the kids at Monkey Joes. It is a big indoor bounce house with huge inflatable slides. We were there for 2 1/2 hours and had a great time. What made it even more fun is that adults could join the kids....so we got to go down the slides too. I seriously felt like a kid again.
Here is Addison going down the 2 story slide. She loved it (as you can tell from the big smile on her face).

When we first got there, I put Lucas on my lap to go down the slide. By the time we were leaving, I was sending him down the slide by himself (my mother-in-law was at the bottom to get him). He LOVED it and was so brave.

Today we met some friends and took the kids to Chuck E Cheese. It was actually the first time that Bob was there. I forgot how good the pizza was. The kids had fun and so did we.

I love how Lucas is staring at Bob The Builder in this picture like "hey man, what are you doing on the ride with me!"

The kids get hair cut.

Today we took the kids to get haircuts at my cousin's house. Toby built his wife Karen the most amazing hair salon in their basement. She was so good with the kids. This was just Addison's 2nd haircut and Lucas' 1st. They both did so well (with the help of suckers). You can't really tell in the pictures, but Lucas' hair was pretty long and she cut off about 4 inches of Addison's hair.

This picture is an attempt for an after picture.

Here is an after picture of Addison's hair. It is nice and short for the hot summers here.

This is just a cute picture of Addison with her friend Mackenzie at a birthday party over the weekend.

Fun times in the new house.

We sure have been enjoying the new house and are loving the great spring weather. One great feature that we love about our house is that we live on a cul-de-sac. It is great. Yes, we don't have much of a back yard but the kids have an amazing time playing in the cul-de-sac with the neighbor kids. We have meet all the neighbors in the cul-de-sac and everyone is very nice. The other day the kids had something really great happen. One of the neighbor kids (she is 9) knocked on the door with her friend and asked if Addison and Lucas could come out to play. It was so cute. I seriously wanted to cry.
Last weekend Bob tackled a project with his brother. They built a new swing set that is now attached to the deck and has a lot of support that we needed since the side of the yard is a small down hill where the swing set is. I still need to take a picture, but they did a great job.
Here is a picture of Addison and Lucas sitting in the chair very nicely together.

This is something the kids love to do with Daddy.
