Lisa is 29.

Well, I turned the big 29 this past week and that is all I really have to say about that. Bob and I actually went out on Saturday night and had my parents keep the kids over night. We went to a wine tasting party with Bill and Linda. We had a great time and really enjoyed the wine and a late night out.
Addison has been a really happy girl. She is saying many 5-6 word sentences and they actually make a lot of sense and you can understand her. I took the kids to a great park (along with my parents) on my birthday and there were a lot of animals there for Addison to see (cows, horses, pigs, chickens, lambs, etc). She loved it and enjoyed saying hi to all the animals and making animal noises.

Lucas is really getting into playing with his toys and reaching for things. He also was so close to rolling over on my birthday. It would have been great if he did it. Bob says he did roll over but he had to help him move his arm about a half an inch so that he could roll over completely, but I say he didn't cause he had some assistance. Oh and Lucas slept through the night for the first time on Friday night. He had his last bottle at 10pm and he slept till 6am. Now of course the last 2 nights he got up for a bottle around 2:30 am but atleast I know he has it in him to do it.
Here is a picture of Addison actually smiling and looking at me when taking a picture (not an easy thing to do these days).

Lucas enjoying his swing.

Addison having fun with Daddy.

Lucas getting a bath (he is 3 1/2 months old in this picture).

Now here is a picture of Lucas getting a bath at 2 weeks. He sure has grown!

Getting Big.

Unfortunately my nephew Brendan had a seizure while in the car on Friday night. He has been in the hospital ever since and has gone through many many tests and all have come back fine except to indicate that he did have a seizure. He seemed to be doing a lot better on Sunday and is having an MRI today that will hopefully give us some answers. Brendan was a preemie and born at 30 weeks and he possibly may have a condition called hydrocephalus which is fluid in the brain but should be controlled with a shunt that would be put in the back of his neck to drain the fluid to another part of his body. But again, we don't know if this is what he has but it seems to be a possibility. Please pray for Brendan!
On a brighter note, the kids are doing great. Lucas is getting so big. He is laughing more and just talks all the time. He is not sleeping through the night yet but he sleeps longer at night which helps. Addison is doing great too. She is saying more and more longer sentences every day like "thanks for coming over". We have been talking to her about using the potty for some time now but she wants nothing to do with it, but it is early still.
Here is a picture of Lucas in his bumbo chair. Doesn't he look so big. Don't you just love his little brother t-shirt (from my friend Pam!

Addison loves to lay on the floor with Lucas.

Addison loves to help. Here she is watering the flowers at my parents house.

Bob is a huge St. Louis Blues hockey fan and it looks like the kids will follow in his foot steps. Addison is already obsessed with it and loves to wear her hockey shirt. She had to wear hers after she saw Lucas in his hockey shirt.

So cute!!!

Lucas' 3 month pictures

I took the kids (along with my parents to help) to Sears for Lucas' 3 month pictures. He did so well and I think we got some really nice pictures. Below are the 4 shots that we ordered. The last picture however is the only picture that we could get with Addison and Lucas. Addison just did not want her picture taken. We obviously did not order any of that picture (you can even see my arm in it).

We went on a VACATION!

We went on a vacation this past weekend. Well, it was our version of a vacation. We went to the lake of the ozarks and stayed with Bob's parents in their condo on the lake. Bob took off 2 days of work and we were there from Wednesday night until Sunday afternoon. We had a great time and so did the kids. The weather could not have been better (mid 80's and sunny every day). We relaxed (as much as you can with 2 kids) and got some extra sleep. We took Addison on the boat and she went swimming in the lake (she is not a big fan of swimming yet). We went to the outlet mall (which I loved). Addison played at the playground and outside just about all day long. She enjoyed swimming a little more in the pool and made Bob and I take turns jumping in the water. Although Lucas was not able to do as much as Addison he did enjoy his first time in a baby pool and loved being outside so much. Lucas is getting so big and just loves to talk and smile. Addison is learning to sing songs like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star (it is so cute to hear).

Kris and Venessa's babies

I am so thrilled cause two of my best friends are new mom's. I went this weekend to visit Kris in Ohio and see her new baby Tyler. He is just adorable and Kris and Mike are great parents. It was so nice to spend the weekend with them although I missed my family like crazy.

My good friend's Venessa and Jimmy are also new parents. Erica Marie was born on the 4th of July a little over 2 weeks early. She is adorabe and tiny (6 lbs 10 oz). I know Venessa and Jimmy are going to be great parents!

4th of July

We had a really fun BBQ at our house on the 4th of July. All the kids had so much fun. Below is a picture with Addison and her friends stepping on snap-n-pops.

Hanging out in the back yard

Here are just a few pictures from hanging out in the backyard this past week. Lucas enjoyed his first time in the swing and Addison loves when Bob swings her in the air. Both kids are doing great. Lucas seems to be taking his bottle a little better. He is losing some more of his hair. Addison's new phrase is "that's mine" which is course we are not thrilled about.

It's July.

I can't believe it is July already and Lucas is approaching 3 months and Addison will be 2 in 2 months. We are having a great summer but it is so hot here in St. Louis. If I take the kids for a walk, it has to be before 9am or after 7pm and it is still hot.
Lucas is doing great. We are still experimenting with a formula that he likes best. Bob and I are pretty sure he does not have acid reflux and maybe is just a fussy eater. Hopefully he outgrows this though. He is doing really well and just can't stop smiling. He loves to look up at ceiling fans and lights. See the pic below of him on his belly. He does not love belly time but he loves a good nap on his belly.
The next 3 pictures are taken with a group of friends we got together with this weekend. I chat online with the 2 Mom's below on a parenting website and they happen to both live nearby. It was so nice to meet them in person and all the kids had so much fun together. Addison probably had too much fun cause she was running around so much and cut up her knees a little and has some bruises. She had a great time though!
