A post from the kids.

Bob and I were busy with a big project in the yard today......repairing our side yard from our retaining wall project when the bobcat destroyed it. It is great because the kids are at an age where they can be outside with us but mostly entertain themselves when needed. Well, during that time it include them taking the camera from me and snapping some pics....probably about 70 of them. Here are just a few.....
The start of the project.
And then the shots get really interesting....wheelbarrow with a little dirt.
Self portrait.
Posing in front of our neighbors landscaping.

Our neighbors flowers.
This was a good shot because it showed some of the progress we made.
A nice pic of our wooded backyard.
Some pretty clouds.
A silly boy.
Thumbs up for some good picture taking!

Spring break is over. It was fun...well except for the days when Lucas was taken over by allergies and asthma. Boo. Over the last few days we went to a local nature center, a play date, whittle train store, chuck e cheese, a swimming birthday party, a fun day with their cousins including cheering on their cousin Molly at her soccer game and then a day full of fun outside today. They probably are not thrilled to go back to school but at least summer vacation is not too far away!

Some spring break time at Castlewood park.

Castlewood Park!
St. Louis really does have some amazing parks and Castlewood is one of them. This park is great because it has some great trails to hike, bike and run on. Actually, Bob and I have been running on these very trails because we are training for a pretty intense 25K trail run next month. Bob is going to do great...I am a little worried about myself though.
Anyways, Bob got home from a 3-day ski trip in Colorado and took off on Monday so that he could have a little time with the kids. We headed to Castlewood park for a 1.5 mile hike, tons of fun playing by (and in) the creek and some tree climbing. It was a great day and the weather was amazing.

They could not get enough of the creek!!!

We had lots of fun when we came upon this cool tree.
I tried to have a little fun but just ended up looking like an old lady. :(
And then there is Bob....aka Tarzan!
Addison gives our adventure 2 thumbs up!
Lucas loved it too....well until we got home and his allergies took him over. :(
Some other spring break time has included: some trips to the gym (they love the daycare there), spring shoe shopping, McDonalds playland, a trip to Fitz's (root beer bottling restaurant), Turtle Park, the movies to see "We Bought a Zoo," and dinner at Nana and Papa's with their cousins.
Next up....Chuck E Cheese tomorrow with friends.

It's winter still....right????

Above is a picture of Bob eating a salad from our garden. Yep. It is still technically winter and our garden (from what we planted last year) had enough lettuce and broccoli for a salad. Crazy huh.
These low to mid 80's temps in St. Louis have been nuts. It is nice and all but we just had the heat on last week and now all of a sudden we are wearing flip flops, shorts and sweating in what feels like the summer heat. We are enjoying it but I would not mind some regular spring weather too!
We have been park hopping all week.
Doesn't Lucas look so happy to be out on a nice day!
Addison enjoying a beautiful day with her friend Ella.
Today we met my parents and nephew Emery at a playground.
I love this picture of Addison being such a cute big cousin to her little cousin. :)
Our almost 5 year old enjoying the warm, warm winter day!
Swinging away....
Spring break starts tomorrow and hopefully we will make some memories and do some fun stuff. Stayed tuned.

Loving Linda!

Last Saturday was a really great day. Not only was the weather amazing, but we were part of an amazing 5k walk/run event for the Young Women's Breast Cancer Program. I put together a team of 12, "Loving Linda," to honor my amazing sister-in-law, Linda, who is a breast cancer survivor at the young age of 34. It has been a rough couple of months but the end of the battle is in sight and she is going to be fine. Bob's aunt Liz is also a survivor and was there to support the team.
The team!
Breast cancer survivors.....Liz and Linda!
Bob and Bill.
It was Bill's first 5K....can you tell how excited he is about it. But really, he did great. Bob had an amazing race. He placed 2nd overall with a time of 21 minutes (that is a 6:50 mile pace). Impressive huh!!!
Bill and Linda after the race.
Me with my brave and strong sister-in-law. I love you Linda!
Our team name on one of the banners.
