Pumpkin carving time.

We have been having fun getting ready for halloween. We didn't carve pumpkins last year since Addison was still pretty young. She had fun helping Daddy though this year. She was not very interested in pulling out the pumpkin seeds but insisted that one pumpkin have a happy face and one pumpkin have a funny face. Here are a few pictures from the pumpkin carving event.

Lucas hung out on the swing set while Bob and Addison carved the pumpkins. Next year he can really help out and have fun.

Addison is so proud of the pumpkins. She goes out everyday to visit and talk to them and give the pumpkins kisses. Today she was giving them leaves to eat. As you can tell from these pictures, Lucas doesn't care all that much for them but hopefully he will be more excited when we take them trick-0r-treating.

A few pics from over this past week.

I don't really have anything to update but here are some pictures from this past week.
Here is a picture of Addison getting down on the floor to play with Lucas.

Bob's brother was over on Saturday to help him with the retaining wall in our backyard. So Linda, Molly and Katy came along too and spent the day with us. Here is a picture of Addison and Molly having "quiet time" on the couch (they watched a movie) since we knew neither would want to take a nap.

Here is Katy. She is just 3 weeks old and still so tiny and very cute!

Here is a picture of Bob and Addison reading the paper on Sunday morning. Aren't they cute!

And here is a picture of Lucas just looking cute in his jumperoo!

Trip to the pumpkin patch.

Not too much is new with us. Addison has been trying to give up her nap lately, but we know she still needs it and we hope this is just a phase. On a brighter note, she is counting very well to 15 and is working on her ABC's and is getting better with it everyday. Lucas has been doing great. He sits up and almost never falls over. He is also starting to get on a better schedule and is taking 2 naps a day now and is napping longer which is great. (can I ever get them to BOTH nap well?)
We had a great day on Sunday at the pumpkin patch. We could not believe it was 80 degrees in October but we enjoyed it. Addison loved all the pumpkins and picked out some great ones.

She really enjoyed her first pony ride.

I guess Bob really liked the pumpkins too!

A picture of the 4 of us (but I am not loving how I look in this picture).

Corey's 30th birthday!

On Friday Bob and I drove up to Chicago just the two of us. Bob attended a seminar at his law school and Marina was throwing Corey's 30th b-day party that night as well. It was nice to get away like that for a night and have fun with our friends and enjoy a few drinks. We also went to dinner just the two of us before the party.
Here are a few pictures from the party. It was an Octoberfest theme and Marina did a great job with food and decorations.

I think Corey had a good time!

Lucas is 6 months old.

Wow, Lucas is 6 months old now. It has been an amazing 6 months. He had his 6 month appointment today. He is getting so big so fast. He is 27 inches long and 18 lbs 12 oz (both in the 75th percentile). He is a big boy for sure!
My friend Becky takes the most amazing pictures with her great camera. She took the most amazing pictures of Addison when she turned 2 and we were lucky enough to have her take Lucas' 6 month pictures for us. We have so many great pictures to choose from but I am just sharing these 2 cause I am too excited for friends and family to wait and get their picture in the mail.

Here is my little man!

We even managed to get Addison in a few pictures with Lucas.

Avery's 1st birthday!

We had another busy weekend. We drove to Chicago on Saturday morning to spend some time with friends for the weekend and to go to my nephew Avery's 1st birthday party. My friend Becky was nice enough to let the 4 of us stay at her house (thanks Becky). We had a great time and it was so nice to spend some quality time with my best friends.
On Sunday we went to Avery's birthday party. I can't believe he is one already. He seemed to really enjoy his party and he gave me a ton of kisses and attention and I loved it!!!
Cousins and great friends already.

Dad and Son.

Happy birthday Avery!

My new niece!

I have another beautiful niece. Bill (bob's brother) and Linda had their 2nd baby on Oct. 8th (3 days after Linda's due date). They had a girl. Her name is Kathryn Emily and they are calling her Katie for short. She was 7 lbs 4 oz and is perfect and beautiful.
Here is a picture of Katie with her big sister Molly!

My cousin had their babies!

My cousin Toby and his wife Karen had their babies on Friday. The twins are adorable and doing so well. The boy's name is Brock and he weighed 6 lbs 4 0z and the girl's name is Calle and she weighed 4 lbs 11oz. Toby and Karen are thrilled and will make the most amazing parents to these twins. We are thrilled for them!

Trip to Grant's Farm

Before I get into our weekend I wanted to update everyone on two things. First of all, Lucas now has TWO teeth. Can he grow up any faster. I can't believe he got his first tooth a week ago and now he has two and he is not even 6 months old yet!
I am so thrilled. We have been talking about the potty for months with Addison and have potty books that we read to her all the time. She never has had an interest at all. Then all of a sudden last night she wanted to sit on the potty twice, but nothing happened. Then tonight I put her on the potty one time and she peed right away. I was so freaking proud of her. I don't think we or she is ready to be fully potty trained but I am thrilled she is starting to have an interest!
Saturday we went with some friends to Grant's Farm. It was so hot. I could not believe that it was 92 in October! Despite the heat, we had a great time!

Doesn't he look so cute in his hat.

Lucas is always chewing on a toy these days.

I think Addison was pretending to call na na (Grandma) and tell her about the horses she saw.

Addison loved the camels but like all the animals, she is not interested in getting too close to them.
